I wanted to experiment with lots of different things - volumes, painterly shaders, glass, realistic renders. So I do so in my daily renders as I can.
I used Houdini for volumes in this first image. Ever since I've started learning Houdini, it seems like one's imagination is the limit.
An uncommon use of the Standard C4D render engine is sketch rendering. Easy to do when you learn how.
